How did you get into music?
Music started for me at a very young age because my dad sings as well. It all started when I started taking music lessons and vocal lessons at 11 and started song writing at age 10.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas.
What are you proud of?
I think I'm most proud of doing this music career for so long and not keeping up and keeping my head straight with lots of faith and hope. There have been many times where I felt like giving up and letting it go due to criticism and harsh comments and public opinions, however that's like and I'm so glad that I truly believe in myself and kept going with my career because I don't think I ever would've pictured how far I've come back then. I am so proud that I didn't give up.
Who are some of your biggest influences?
The main artist that influences my whole artistry is Julia Michaels. She is an incredible writer and a singer. I am the writer I am today because of her.
What were the biggest struggles you had to face to get to where you are?
Some of the biggest struggles that I had to face were of course haters. There were a lot of people that doubted me and told me I should just do a normal job. I didn't want to fit in the norm.
What is the best advice you have been given?
My Vocal Coach asked me if I really wanted to be a performer and singer and he told me, "Halston, the only person that's gonna stop your from getting where you want to be is you. Don't listen to anybody you can always take whatever dream or endeavor you have."
How do you stay in shape?
LOL! I wish I could actually say I work out but I don't I just got good genes for my mama!
What new projects are you working on?
I just recently finished filming a music video for my new single "Replace You!" It's going to be coming out soon. I am so excited!
What are you goals for 2020?
I hope to continue to build my fanbase and go on tour. I also hope to release a lot more music and come out with more music videos.
